Italy's celebrated chef Massimo Bottura has opened the doors to his newest restaurant at the long-awaited Gucci Garden museum, which marries both haute couture and haute cuisine in a single historic space in Florence.
Opening to the public on Wednesday inside the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia, Gucci Osteria is destined to become one of the world's most fashionable dining spots, thanks to the pairing of two Italian powerhouse brands.
Aside from the cachet of the Gucci name, Bottura enjoys star status in the upper echelons of gastronomy for his triple Michelin-starred Modena restaurant Osteria Francescana, which was also named the World's Best Restaurant 2016 on the influential ranking by Restaurant magazine. It is currently ranked second.
The partnership was also borne from the longtime friendship between Bottura and Gucci president and CEO Marco Bizzarri.
